Distribution Module

Distribution is an additional product, please contact your Authorized Reseller for details and costs.

This feature is typically used within a Service Bureau type environment.  Distribution allows you to create a specific query from the IMS database.  The query can be saved to CD, hard disc, or other data source.  The saved query builds a database, allowing for the search and view of data, almost as if you were using IMS itself.

In order to use the Distribution Feature, you must start your process within the Archive Module.

The Archive Module allows you to create a very detailed query within a Profile.

There are several functions or purposes for using this Archive feature:

Follow the below steps for creating an Archive:

Within the Adminstration Module, select the "Archive" button.

Now you will want to select the "Archive" icon and then select a profile from the drop down menu.

You will now see the search fields for the selected Profile.  You may either perform a search within the "Quick Search" fields or the "Advanced Search" fields.  After performing your search, you may look through the records to confirm this is the desired information.

Now it is time to switch over to the Distribution Module

At this point you have performed a specific query from a Profile.  You will now want to send these records/attachments to a final destination.  This can be a folder on your computer, server, jump drive, or typically a disc (CD, DVD, BlueRay).  You may even have an FTP process for recurring distribution.

Follow the arrows and instructions within the below screen shot to complete this Module’s task.

You have now successfully created a distributable file.  This file may be replicated and redistributed as often as desired.  If saved to a CD, DVD, BlueRay disc; the file contains an executable function to launch the searchable viewer.
